1950 Cadillac Restoration/Restomod
This 1950 Cadillac 62 series convertible came to us as a previous restoration. Its owner sought upgrades that would add power, performance and modern comforts while maintaining as much originality as possible. At Cadillac Parts & Restoration (CPR), our mission is to satisfy every customer who sends us their prized vehicle and we’re honored to have achieved that with this restomod project.
Improvement to the power plant came in the form of an engine swap, replacing the original 331ci/160hp motor with a newly rebuilt 390ci/325hp engine. Mated to the new motor is a smoother shifting rebuilt Hydra-Matic transmission that offers “Park.” Also adding to the performance of the car was an upgrade to disc brakes offering much better stopping power along with a rack and pinion power steering system. This model year was in the pre-air conditioning era so our Cadillac restoration team installed a smartphone-controlled ac & climate control system that allowed us to keep the gorgeous original dash intact and untouched. Also adding to the comfort level is a new and luxurious leather upholstery.
Other mods/upgrades include:
- 6V electrical upgraded to 12V
- all bulbs converted to LED or halogen
- smartphone bluetooth-controlled full range audio system, completely hidden
- custom 16×7 wire wheels with Michelin radial tires
- vacuum convertible top converted to electric over hydraulic
